Status: Construction Completed 2013
Budget: $1.5 Million
Client: ACT Brumbies Rugby Club
TYRRELLSTUDIO was commissioned to design the ACT Brumbies Sporting Commons, a new state of the art training facility for the rugby club.
The design involved creating playing fields, viewing terraces, outdoor training areas and an arrival plaza to the new building designed by COX Architecture. The TYRRELLSTUDIO design included specialist facilities such as a Paralympics standard Bocce Court which has now been constructed and endorsed by ACT Sport. The Bocce Court is constructed of white brick and sits within a grid of 24 ghost white Eucalypts in a sea of native grasses.
In an unexpected turn, the court has since become less popular for bocce and very popular for outdoor study for students between lectures.
